Health and fitness data is particularly sensitive, and we treat it with extra care. We only collect this data with your explicit consent and use it exclusively to provide fitness tracking, health insights and personalized recommendations within our Services.
You can revoke access to health data at any time through your device settings (Apple Health, Google Health Connect, Samsung Health, Garmin Connect). When you revoke access, we will stop collecting new health data, but previously collected data may remain on our systems in accordance with our data retention policy.
We do not share your health and fitness data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes except as required by law or with your explicit consent.
If you choose to connect your Garmin Connect™ account to FitFolio, we collect and process the activity data that Garmin makes available to us through the Garmin Health API, always with your explicit authorization via OAuth 2.0. This section specifically describes how Garmin data is collected, used, processed and stored.
• Data we collect from Garmin: Activity summaries, including activity type, name, start date and time, duration, distance, calories, and heart rate (average and maximum). We only collect activity data — we don't collect ongoing location data, sleep data, or other metrics that aren't necessary for the app's features.
• How we use Garmin data: exclusively to display your activities within the app, allow you to voluntarily share an activity as a post in the FitFolio community, and provide tracking of your fitness history. We do not use Garmin data for advertising or marketing.
• How we store Garmin data: Garmin activity data is securely stored on our infrastructure in Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore, associated with your account. Garmin access tokens are stored securely and only used to sync your activities.
• Sharing with third parties and AI: We do not sell, share, or process Garmin Connect data with any third parties. Garmin Connect Data are not sent to any artificial intelligence (AI) service or any other third-party data processor. The only exception occurs when you choose to publish an activity as a post yourself — in this case, only the metrics you decide to share are visible to other users, depending on your privacy settings.
• Retention and revocation: You can disconnect Garmin Connect at any time in the app's settings or directly from your Garmin account. When you disconnect, we stop synchronization, request deregistration from Garmin, and delete the Garmin tokens and activity data associated with your account from our active databases.
